dc.description.abstract The purpose of the research was to investigate how public school principals apply negotiation skills to resolve conflicts in schools. Semi-structured interviews were used for public school principals of Mopani District, in Limpopo Province Department of Education, to collect data. The findings were consistent with the work of other researchers that found that only a handful of public school principals had undergone training to prepare them to be effective and efficient school managers. Therefore, this study recommends that the Department of Education in Limpopo Province should provide in-service training for these public school principals, so as to enhance their management and leadership abilities. en
